BBC News

On the BBC News page, there are – among others – 4 links on the left: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales. Clicking England or Wales will result in another screen that has a dropdown menu that further localises the news. Northern Ireland and Scotland do not have this dropdown – yet Scotland is much larger than Wales. I wonder why.

  1. Maybe those areas have specific BBC regional stations and therefore regional news desks. I know for a fact that NI is counted as a single region and therefore wouldn’t need to be broken down any further. I assume the same applies to Scotland.

Also, although Scotland is bigger in terms of size, is there a difference in terms of population? I’d say there is definitely a difference in population density anyway.
