They want us to live without the TV and to be honest I could do so very very easily – but do not come between me and my computer okay ?
There’s a bit on that page that says this “Why is the FCC spending your money to get you to buy a new TV set? ” which reminds me of that scene in Dave (wasn’t Sigourney just gorgeous in that ?) where the eponymous lead questions why the Govt is spending tax dollars to encourage the citizens to buy US products when that industry spent less doing that. I wonder what the UK spends money on us in the same way ?
You know, with the election where it is, this TV thing isn’t such a bad idea !

Sigourney was absolutely gorgeous in that movie…
BTW…my kids and I quit TV cold turkey three years ago. It turned out to be much easier than I anticipated. We still have the TV for watching DVDs, of course, and for playing XBOX, but that’s it.
I’ve taught my kids to use the internet to explore sources for news and information, as well as reading the local newspapers. I am proud to say that CNN, FOX, CBS, MSNBC, and ABC are NOT sites that my kids visit. They get news and information from CBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS, CTV and Global. They actually know something about what is going on in the world, something which they would not get from the US-based sites.
I’m so proud. 🙂
Only reason I watch tv every now and then are reruns of shows and movies I like and the weather channel, everything else I get from the web.
The only reason I had cable for the longest was for Golden Girl reruns. Now they came out with the DVD Box set, so I no longer have cable 🙂
What TV?
