Actually the Red Shuffle is pretty important. It is part of the Red line of products designed to help fund the fight against Aids. It isn’t just a color, it’s a message. It isn’t just Apple, it’s other corporations and companies too. To check out Red, their mission or the other companies and products, visit joinred.com
Heather – it’s just red. In fact, it’s not just red, it’s Apple Red, Steve Jobs Red, Cult Red. It’s got a bazillion more things to do with Apple than anything else.
If it was a simple ‘Hey let’s help’, then why pronounce it from the Altar of Apple?
I don’t know. It’s part of the “Buy Red” campaign. There is a Motorola Razr that is that color, the new red iPods, there is an American Express card the same color, Gap has a line of clothing in that color, Converse and there is an expensive brand of watches, can’t recall the name… they all have products the same red. I think it is to show corporations CAN work together even while competing. It’s kind of like a show of who is part of the Red team. It makes people feel that even while they shop, since we are a nation of consumers, we can still do something since a part of proceeds from all products in the Red line go to a good cause. I am not defending Apple.. well, maybe I am, but there are other companies who have chosen to take part as well.
