Ruairi Dougal – a decent person ?

Rape case collapses over consent

A woman got drunk. She felt ill. Her friends asked Ruairi Dougal to take her home. They were entrusting their friend to his safety given his position of authority that night.
The law says he did not rape her. A trial has not said that.

Regardless of the legal outcome, what sort of man abuses trust placed in him by others and also has sex with a woman he must have known he was seriously taking advantage of ? A decent man ? Someone you would be happy to have as a friend ? Someone you would be happy to invite into your home ? Your life ? Your workplace ? He can live behind this legal outcome but nothing can disguise that fact that Ruairi Dougal is lowlife scum.

TC – Ultrastupid

Tom “Alleviating global problems with every glinting smile” Cruise has bought an ultrasound machine to monitor his incubator’s wife’s girlfriend’s pregnancy. So he can save the world on film, he wants to save the world with his pearly whites and now he has added the skills necessary to use and decipher all the information that can be discovered using the ultrasound technique. What’s he doing with it ? Send pulses at frequencies and intervals that good’ole L.Ron said would help the baby grow into a ‘good little scientologist’ ? Because of course whatever that child wants, Tom will never let it use it’s own judgement with regard particularly to any spiritual development will he – cult members never do. Back to the machine …. isn’t this a case of “I’ve got more money than you” or “What can I get that the breeding set in Hollywood have not yet got ?” or “Let’s make the world a better place by donating a secondhand ultrasound machine that has been touched by Tom!!!” or just plain stupidity ?

Foose School, Harrisburg

Coming soon ! A feature on an employee of the above school. If you are involved with that school, employed by that school or the school board or are a parent of a child attending that school then you may well be interested in the activities of an art teacher there. After all, if you are putting the care and welfare of your child into the hands of another, shouldn’t you be completely confident in that person’s abilities and attitudes ? I think you should, which is why I will assemble some infomation which may be of interest to you.

As I mentioned above, there is a teacher at Foose School who I – as a parent – would be deeply unhappy to have teaching a child of mine. Here is why (all the ‘source’ links lead to Usenet and are text only. Other links should be considered Not Safe For Work):

I’m open and honest about my life and my posting habits.
source

Everything quoted here was written by this teacher on Usenet – a fully searchable index of posts that is owned by Google.

Really? From what I’ve read, it seems Christ was heavy into scarification and suspension.
source

Is this the attitude of a teacher ? Is this the attitude of someone who should be educating children or even in charge of children ? Is a parent who believes in Christianity comfortable with this ?

>I don’t need to attend church to prove my faith.
Not approaching it from that angle. You’re not proving your faith, you’re building contacts. Networking. Meeting people who will take interest in you, take you under their wing, offer you a job? Yeah.
source

So he now says he does not go to church to worship, but to network. So he believes that Christ was into suspension and scarification and now admits to going to church just to make contacts with others. What does he believe ? Does this bring his religious values – and therefore the effect this would have on those young people in his charge – into question ? What does he say when the subject of Christian religion comes up ? How does he conduct himself in times of Christian festivals ?

On females, Curt James says:

Yep, pussy, pussy, pussy. My ideal is a girl with thick hair, around 5-7, 39-34-42 (go ghetto booty!), blue eyes who loves receiving oral sex and prefers it Snoop Doggie Dog-style.

and
Thought this URL may be of interest to some here:

Was on the prowl for an issue of Horny Biker Slut.

then he adds
I had issues 2 through 7 or 8. Did a Google search and found additional issues as well as:

Cool John Howard info.

Yeah, because I’m all about bodyart.
Navel piercings, ass antlers, earrings. Yup.

and in a thread about the infamous Janet Jackson Superbowl incident:
> Every breast and every nipple and every dark area
> (areola) around the nipple vary somewhat from male
> to male and female to female.
Not sure that that’s even true. There are many nipples that are similar as well. You’re not “reading” the right magazines, viewing the right Web sites, or hanging in the right circles apparently.

Hi. I’m Erica. I haven’t posted here in, um, seconds. Maybe it’s been minutes.
source

Changing his name to get around killfiles – from what I have read many many people have this teacher blocked in their newsreader because of his attitudes, abuse and sheer volume of inane postings. So he chooses to thwart them and keep annoying them. I believe acting maturely should be a key principal of those in charge of impressionable minds.

I have to say that if ANY teacher at a school my children went to posted this sort of material I would contact the Headteacher to discuss matters in detail. But then about the children in his class he says

sometimes I was thinking how creative at being a brat
source

then tells the parents otherwise. He is not telling parents the truth about their own children.

Are you happy that Curt James is in charge of your children ? Around your children ? To be a role model for those in his charge ? I would not be – but how you choose to use this information is up to you. They are your children.

I want to make something very clear – nothing in this post is fabricated. It has all been posted by Curt James to the internet. I am not slandering him. I am not calling the reputation of either Foose School or it’s other teachers into question – I am sure they are well thought of. What does amaze me is that such a school chooses to employ someone like Curt James and allow him such close contact with their – your – children.
Would you ?

Turning computers off

I must have hit a stream of blogs / posts / articles tonight about turning computers off.
I generally turn my computers off. I do this for an incredibly simple reason: I’m not using it. Yet I read of people boasting that because they use some flavour of Linux or a Mac that they can leave their machines on for days. Weeks. Longer. Windows users do not indulge in this fetish.
WHY ?
Because you can ? that’s a stupid answer.
Because it’s not Windows ? that’s a stupid answer.
There is simply no point to leave a machine on is there ? Possibly overnight I could understand but weeks ?
What possible convincing argument is there ? Enlighten me.

There are no echoes

So digging around in the database and deleting what is just junk in there and I still have a working blog. Maybe I’m learning something. And I’ve deleted about 6 databases, many testing directories – didn’t I get tamba2.net for that ? – and slimmed everything down to what’s running and nothing else.

Over the last two days I’ve also tried the Knoppix and Ubuntu Live CD’s. Neither can get my network card working, but Knoppix looks nicer. None of that brown nonsense. Still don’t think I’ll ever switch but it might happen …..

In our garden we have a visiting grey squirrel, a fox and a pheasant. One day I’ll get round to taking my camera to be fixed and then I’ll take some pictures. Not that you’ve not seen these things before I know, but why not.

Skippy just popped this link into #wordpress: 42 HHGTTG mini games. Addictive little things.

In a shop the other day a woman looked at my ears and asked if they were real holes. I said yes and poked my thumbs through the steel tunnels in them. “Oh” she says “Do they close up when you take the metal out ?” Durrrrr… and talking of bodyart I really want to redo the whole abody gallery setup. I’m beginning to really dislike the main gallery code and the way it’s setup but I’m not sure quite where to go to replace what is essentially functional code. And it’s a lot of images so I don’t want to do it twice.

And I’m not over yesterday yet. Not that I thought I would be. Take more photos. Now. They matter.

Tamba

In early 1986, I walking through Leicester City Centre. There was a petshop near the Cinema which I passed regularly. The front was all glass with a set back door just off-centre and in the small remaining space was a glassed in area. That day there was a small black kitten. It was chasing a fly. I bought her.
I called her Tamba.
When I was growing up we had a cat and her name was Tamba as well, so my new kitten was actually Tamba Two. Since 1986, she has seen me and J get married, she had some kittens and shared the nursing of them with another cat that we got at the same time. The other cat was called Chuffy and she, despite losing a leg in a car engine, lived to be about eleven. We have moved house 5 times, she initially cuffed the new kitten that we bought for D, yet these days she will only ever go out at his shoulder. She has seen the girls grow up, she has been part of the family, and part of my life for the last 19+ years. Apart from J, that means she is the second longest relationship of my life.
We’ve suspected an illness for a while but a trip to the vet around a year ago got the all-clear given her age. We took her a couple of weeks ago – she was ill. Today we took her again. She didn’t come home.

More on feeds

In September, I did a small comparison of feeds. Back then, I liked Feedster, Blogdigger got no splogs and Technorati came in third out of the four. Since then Google has popped up, so I ran a feed looking for “podz” on the 4 engines just mentioned. This is a huge image to try and show some results from FeedDemon:

Some notes:

  • The spelling mistake in the Feedster list was present on my site for probably less than 2 minutes. They have a quick bot.
  • Feedster is the only one to find the trac reference
  • Feedster is the only one finding comment references
  • Technorati seems to like the foreign feeds, so given that if I’m searching for something I want to read about it, it’s service is not for me
  • The amount of sploggers in the feeds seems to have dropped which is a good thing

There are probably other things that could be drawn from the above, and it hardly counts as a comprehensive survey, but it does mean that when I want to search blogs there is only one place to go: Feedster

Blair knows best. Again.

Prime Minister Tony Blair is still opposed to the death penalty, his official spokesman has insisted.

However, the prime minister’s official spokesman said: “The government’s view is still against the death penalty – other people are entitled to their views.”

It’s about time this country had a referendum on the Death Penalty. I favour it, always have. We now have the tools available to forensic science, coupled with other technologies that can – along maybe even with a confession – that when taken together can absolutely determine the guilt of someone. If we are certain, then why not take their lives ? If we are going to lock them into the judicial system – which is there for the purposes of “rehabilitation” – yet they have no chance of release – there are a number of such prisoners – then why are we paying to keep them alive ? Why are we making them live such a constricted life when they have no chance of release and they know that ? Is that not cruelty ? Is it more cruel to kill them ? Is it morally less repugnant to lock someone into a space for an amount of time that were that an animal we would have the animal rights people / RSPCA going nuts about it ? Could we not even offer a person the option of the death penalty rather than being locked up for the rest of their natural life ? (Which is a non-option seeing as that’s a path to govt-sanctioned euthanasia but at a cost of another life).
Where is the problem with the Death Penalty ? What is the problem with letting the voters of this country decide on this subject ? Wasn’t Blair et al elected to serve us ? Isn’t it his duty to allow us to determine how are country is run ? Why is it right for Blair to decide – wrongly and based on lies – to send many innocent men to another country to die but it’s wrong for him to allow millions of people to decide for themselves whether or not we should kill those that have demonstrated that they cannot handle the responsibility of living in society ? Blair is – like previous PM’s – terrified that his reputation will be tarnished by allowing the people to decide on this subject. He dismisses the populist opinion simply because it does not match his and because he will use claims about his religious beliefs and other such garbage. Strange that he will carp on about the fact we live in a multi-cultural society and that we should all respect that but when it comes down to anything he deems as ‘moral’ or ‘ethical’ that his version of christianity is the only way to go. If a tenth of that number felt strongly about another issue which he wanted, he’d support this.

Whether or not you agree with the Death Penalty, it IS the right thing to do to have a referendum and following the result of that – when it is voted in – to build all the approriate safeguards to the satisfaction of all concerned.
