Spent a while last night trying to find a domain name to buy. Every single one had gone, which is no great surprise I guess, and if I wanted to start using numbers instead of letters I could get something close, but that’s cheating so I won’t. And anyway, if I want to write on a domain of mine, a quick hop to dnsstuff would tell someone everything they could want to know about it (yep, even the hosting company, which server and how many other sites are on the server so you can’t even pretend you have cool hosting when you are really on one of the junk hosts) so anonymity is blown. So screw buying another. I’m going back there.
Typo. Did it over again and I think that it’s because the Alias is not setup – and as I couldn’t see a way of doing this through cpanel, and because I didn’t try the .htaccess at domain level I subbed a ticket to ASO late last night. So now I have the reply and just need to give a couple of bits of info but then Gary has emailed me an XP setup guide (cheers !) which I’ll get round to tackling later so I get to see the inside of the ‘new kid on the blogging block’.
House builders – here’s an idea! The suppliers of your concrete lintels for windows ? get them to set holes at a fixed size and depth in two rows parallel to one edge. Then us – the people who have to put blinds / curtain rails and other materials as deemed by the females in the house – have somewhere easy and predictable to slap some rawlplugs into. Battering away with a screaming hammer drill is not – oddly enough – anywhere close to my ‘leisure interests’ list.
Is a comment beginning “Hi everybody” and which then turns out to someone promoting their anti-spam methods in fact spam itself ? I think so. Anyone who has a clue knows that SK2 and BB are all you need.
