Canterbury Cash / Cache

“A secure world will only be realised if the rich share their wealth, justice and liberty with poorer nations, the Archbishop of Canterbury has warned.”
Shame the Church of England can’t help out …. I mean, assets of £4.4 BILLION just doesn’t go as far as it used to … and a daily income in excess of £300,000 … they’ll have to stop having biscuits with their tea next!

  2. That’s true, but look at their expenditure… I’m not jumping to the defense of the CofE, but the daily income of 300,000, probably only JUST pays to keep the churches in England going… think of all their costs… a church cost a hell of a lot to heat, then there’s reroofing, upkeep, maintainance. Also there’s the compulsory upkeep of disused churches, which adds more cost. Also stipends for vicars, pensions, rectory costs… They’re probably not all that far in the black…

God, I can’t believe I’m defending the anglican church… (sitting in a nice warm rectory, living off their money! :p )

Far enough to keep salting away money to add to that 4.4 BILLION quid though.

  4. Actually AJ, that amount of money the Church gets a day is MORE than NASA is given per day by the US Govt.
