I know it’s vaguely similar to the Quick Launch bar, but I think it’s really neat, plus I can access the Control Panel and My Computer from that facility too. Not sure just how many programs it can hold, but from what I’ve read, I could easily add another 10 and it would still work fine. I really like it :)
I still feel like craponastick. And no, I’m not buying any Contac 400. Tried it years ago, didn’t work for me.
Realised just now that the smilies had gone, so I’ve put them back – adds a touch of colour to the page don’tcha think ?
I need to crack on with the WP work too … I learnt how to do image mapping last night! Most clever! I’ve done page jumps before, but never by way of an image map. If you want to see the first very rough draft of what I am doing, it’s here. The layout still needs a lot of work, and that’s really the next part. Get that first section (well that’s section 2 actually) looking the way I want, and then the work doing the rest of the sections will be a whole lot easier.
Since I did the ftp guide, there have been a lot less questions in the WP forums about that side of things (or so it seems to me), but this little set of guides could be useful to a lot more people. For some reason, CSS seems to scare people. I’ll admit that if I have to start one from scratch it can be a wee bit daunting, but they do make life so much easier – hence me moving a lot of pages here over to a single CSS file. And it’s fun in that I am learning too.
When it comes to certain aspects of the CSS, I’ll be needing some help I guess … or maybe I won’t. It’s only when you get to ‘teach’ someone about something that you realise how much you know sometimes.
You may remember that when I had my vanilla HTML site, I had a humungous links page full of wierd and wonderful links to games, tests and other oddities. I’ve not brought it back, and even if I could be bothered to find the CD onto which it is burned, it would not validate anyway. What I have done though – inspired by the wagging finger of Neil at the munch – is created a page onto which I shall add those quality games that I come across. (Note: I do not call 3D Pong ‘quality’ :) ) There are only a couple of links there right now, but as I remember some, and discover others, the list will grow.

Haven’t felt this bad in forever. Anyway …
First very basic part of something I offered to do in the WP forums has been done. Due to time differences between here and the US, it won’t be til late tonight that I find out how to proceed with it, but it should be okay I guess (it’s a graphical guide that links what you are seeing now with the css file that controls it).
I’ve also got round to doing a page that lists the freeware I use. It’s linked from the main page, but you can see it by clicking here. It’s current only as of now, because esp with the ftp client, I’m always trying different ones. I highly recommend Aqua Dock – much much better than using Quick Launch.
I’ll try and get round to doing something with the munch photo’s later.

with a horrid cold. As such, doing anything even vaguely important has stopped, and instead I’m converting all my pages here to xhtml. (And then I will stop further upgrading the code. I’ve done it a few times now, but I figure that xhtml transitional will be fine for a good while, so it’s the very last time. Not that it makes any difference whatsoever to anyone looking at the page, but it makes a difference to me).

Winamp listing gone. I’m moving to another way of displaying this output, and as it does not use a javascript thing like Blogamp, I have to stare a lot at the php that runs this page to see how I can include it. If indeed I can.
